Welcome to New Russia

History evolves continuously and politics is never static, but Geography is a constant. That is why there is a compelling geo-strategic logic to close INDO-RUSSIAN relations. We are the two largest democracies of the world-one in terms of the size of its population and the other in terms of the size of its territory. We are having not only strong/excellent Political, Trade, Economic, Military alliance, Bilateral, Civilian and Military nuclear energy, science and Technology relations but also cultural relations.

The strategic partnership between India and Russia is unique. One can find significant cooperation between Gazprom, Rosneft, Technopromexport and Power Machine with ONGC, GAIL and other Indian companies.

With the visit of Russian President Mr.Vladamir Putin, (25 – 26th Jan 2006), the year of 2008 has been declared the year of Russia in India and the year of India in Russia in 2009.

A visit to Russia today is an encounter with an undiscovered land

“ By reason Russia can’t be grasped,” wrote the famous poet Fyodor Tyutchev (1803-1873). These words still hold true to this day. To grasp Russia, one needs to feel it, visit it, watch it and travel through it. One of the most notable features of present day Russia is a renamed celebration of the wealth of its past and its potential for the future. Russia today is a nation of enormous diversity and tremendous of a century ago have re-awakened with a newfound strength-ancient cathedrals are being rebuilt and restored. colorful market hum with activity once again and literature and the arts are quickly regaining the creative renown they enjoyed decades ago. A new Russia is now in full bloom. For most westerners, Russia is associated with its European cities – Moscow and St. Petersburg. These are the heartland of Imperial Russia, and these great and ancient cities often become the focus for most tourists. However there is much more to Russia, a country that spans eleven time zones and two continents, ending less than 50 miles from North America. Within this vast expanse lie the largest freshwater lake in the world, rivers and forests teeming with fish and wildlife, awe inspiring volcanoes, and towering mountains. Russia is the largest country on earth, with enormous tracts of land that have been opened tp travelers only in the last few years.

Whether its the snowy peaks of the Caucasus Mountains or the ancient domed majesty of Saint Petersburg, Russia has a lot to offer. And access to the most beautiful and remote locations as well as to the bustling is readily available. Few countries can match Russia when it comes to the rarest jewels of nature. This is an amazing land where you can be transported back well beyond the reaches of human history. Russia has an incredible collection of natural reserves, where eco-systems are preserved in their pristine states.

Just as Russia’s rich cultural heritages has once more come to life, its natural heritage too is a new country waiting to be discovered.
