The optional tour includes a trek to the 4,120 meter Chandra Tal (Moon lake). The trout-filled waters reflect the surrounding snow-capped peaks, the banks flooded with edelweiss and the lake is the source of Chandra river which joins with the Bagga to forms the Chenab river.

Day 01-04: Lahoul valley
The optional tour includes a trek to the 4,120 meter Chandra Tal (Moon lake). Departure by road and cross Rohtang pass. This is Lahoul valley, cut off for most of the year. Reach and camp at Batal after a drive of seven hours.

Day 05: Chandra Tal
Morning trek to Chandra Tal, reaching by late afternoon. Camp on lake's northern shore.

Day 06: Chandra Tal
Day at leisure, explore the surroundings. Camp at shore.

Day 07 to Day 10: Baralach pass
Trek to the Baralach pass.

Day 11 : Sarchu
Resume drive to Leh, camping at Sarchu for the night. Transfer to airport for flight to Delhi.
